Dear HPCS Parent,
I just came from saying good byes to the junior and senior high students at their end-of-semester chapel, which was a great way to close out the fall semester, by the way! The student body officers put together a “fun chapel” for their fellow students, and we all had a great time with marshmallow relays, human bowling, and an egg nog chugging contest!
The elementary students enjoyed what I understand to be a longstanding HP tradition in their chapel a bit earlier–a reader’s theater version of “How the Grinch Stole Christmas,” with teachers playing the various parts and Bruce Mizell in the leading role of Grinch! We also sang several Christmas songs and just had a great time.
Now at the close of my first semester at Hampton Park, I find myself so very grateful for the opportunity to serve in this special place. From the incredible faculty, to our wonderful students, to you as such supportive parents–the people that make up this place have made me feel so welcome. Thank you!
As we reflect on this Christmas season–something the students helped us do so well with their delightful Christmas programs–my heart is full of gratitude for this past semester and hope for the future. God was so good to send His Son to earth to save us. And He’s been so good to entrust our children to us to train up in His service. The potential that resides in each of our children to impact the world for Christ is just incalculable!
In closing, I want to wish you a very merry Christmas and a happy new year! I already can’t wait to see the students back again in a couple of weeks! (OK, maybe I can wait a few days at least; you like me are probably ready for one of those long winter’s naps right about now . . .) Lord bless you this holiday season,
