Principal’s Post – Jan 26, 2016

Dear HPCS Parent,

Thanks so much for your patience with the school cancellations Friday and Monday. The Monday cancellation was particularly difficult, given the clear road conditions for many of you. But after cueing off of Greenville County and evaluating many roads myself, as well as the weather forecast, it seemed wisest in the interest of safety to cancel yesterday as we did on Friday. These are never easy decisions to make, as the inconvenience to working moms and dads can be very challenging, so thank you for your understanding.

I also wanted to take a moment to remind you of Open House this week. We had a great time visiting with several families this morning, and we hope for many more tomorrow and Thursday between 8:45 and 11:00 a.m. And remember that if a new family you refer to HPCS registers during Open House, both you and they will receive a $50 tuition discout per child per family. So, if you know of any families that you think might be a good fit for Hampton Park, please invite them to come see the campus and visit with us sometime between now and Thursday.

Finally, I wanted you to know that things seem to be going very well with our four-week Chinese exchange program. Both the Chinese students and our host families seem to be having a great time experiencing a different culture! If you, too, would like to participate in just a small way, consider coming out to watch the China vs. USA basketball game scheduled for 4:00 p.m. this Thursday between the HPCS middle school boys and the Chinese boys. Should be great fun cheering on both teams!

Have a wonderful evening,
