They were at the top of their sections and participated in a second audition in Columbia, SC, against the top players from all 5 regions (representing all of the schools) in South Carolina.

C. Christ was the principal euphonium of the Junior Band.

The Hampton Park Students participated in the Junior & Senior Bands. The ensembles practiced from 9:30-5:00 on Friday and Saturday. The three day event culminated in a free concert at 1:30 on Sunday afternoon.

SCBDA All State Band Auditions

The Region Band auditions consist of scales, terms, a prepared exercise, and sight reading. There are three graded ensembles that students audition for: Junior (6th-8th), Clinic (9th-10th), & Senior (11th-12th). Students who are top of their level for their instrument have the privilege to audition for SCBDA All State callbacks. All State callbacks have the same audition requirements with more challenging sight reading examples.
