Hampton Park Christian School’s first ever LEGO® robotics team will start next school year.
Who can belong?
Rising fourth through sixth grade students who attend Hampton Park Christian School; all applicants will be considered for up to a 10-member team.
What will they do?
They will research a real-world problem such as food safety, recycling, energy, etc., and are challenged to develop a solution. They also must design, build, and program a robot using LEGO MINDSTORMS®. They will then demonstrate on a table-top playing field.
When will they meet?
Teams will meet twice weekly from September to November to prepare their team and learn to program their robot for competition.
What skills are needed?
Teamwork, technology skills, creativity, research and presentation skills, along with a commitment to learning and following through on completing the project are all very important to teams as they work together.
What is the cost?
$45.00 per student will cover the cost of supplies.
How do I join?
All completed applications must be given to Mrs. Howell or Ms. Geer
no later than Friday, May 20th.
