HPCS Panther Bots Receive Generous Gift!

img_4865In an effort to become more STEAM powered, HPCS started a 2-year STEAM initiative in the fall of 2015. During the first year, the faculty and administration worked together to identify what we’re doing well and where we can improve.

One of the improvements that Hampton Park has implemented during the second year of this initiative is our First Lego League Robotics Team. Team members call themselves the “Panther Bots” and meet twice each week with their faculty advisors: Miss Donica Geer, Mrs. Amy Saldivar, and Mrs. Sarah Howell. The team has also had a lot of help from Mr. Dan Wooster, founder and director of Camp Infinity, and his assistant, Mrs. Emily Barney.

Last week, the Panther Bots received 10 robot sets from Bob Jones University. This generous gift was a wonderful surprise! The team will put these robot sets to good use as they prepare for their first competition in December.

Thank you, BJU, for helping HPCS become more STEAM powered!
