Middle School Basketball Games
Please make a note that the Middle School games against Mt. Zion that were originally scheduled for Thursday, January 5, have been rescheduled to Monday, January 9. Mt. Zion has changed the school name to Bridgeway Christian Academy, which is located at 724 Garlington Road, Greenville, SC 29615. The MS girls play at 4 p.m. and the MS boys play at 5 p.m. at Bridgeway Christian.
Geography Bee
The Geography Bee for Grades 4-8 will be held on Friday, January 6, at 2:25 p.m. in the Collins Auditorium (C Building). Parents are invited to attend, but will need to check in at the office for a pass.
SCACS Art Projects
Art entries must be turned in before school on January 11. Mrs. Panosian will be available after school from 3:15-4:30 p.m. on January 3-10, for any students who need assistance with the project.
Alumni Games – Tuesday, January 10
Our Varsity teams will play the Alumni on Tuesday, January 10, at 5:15 for girls and 6:30 for boys. Come out and cheer on the Panthers – the current Panthers and the graduated Panthers!
Martin Luther King Day
There will be no school or child care on Monday, January 16, in observance of Martin Luther King Day.
Spirit Week is January 23-27 – Be making plans to participate
This year the entire student body is participating in Spirit Week, and students are invited to dress according to the theme for each day. Any Upper School student not participating are expected to abide by the regular dress code.
- Monday – Character Day (dress like a famous real-life or fictitious character)
- Tuesday – Casual Day (dress in comfortable clothing from pajamas to sweats to jeans)
- Wednesday – Decades Day (dress in retro clothing from a particular decade)
- Thursday – Crazy Day (the name says it all – dress in mismatched clothes or costumes. Be creative! You may wear temporary face or hair paint if applied at home rather than at school)
- Friday – School Spirit Day (Navy, gold and white!)
Please be mindful to keep clothing modest. Upper School students, please remember no shorts allowed.
Homecoming
Homecoming is the culmination of Spirit Week and will take place on Friday, January 27. All HPCS families are encouraged to come enjoy the homecoming festivities!

- MS Boys vs. Christ Church – 5:00
- Varsity Girls – 6:30
- Varsity Boys – 7:45
- An alumni reception will be held in the Blue Room.
- The Senior Class of 2017 and their parents will be recognized.
Admission to homecoming is free with your complimentary Panther Pass (available in the office). Concessions will be available for purchase (all proceeds benefit the Class of 2017).

General Announcements
Mirrors for Art Class
The art department is continuing to collect compact/hand mirrors for art class. Please check your old purses or junk drawers for compact mirrors that you can donate. You may drop off the mirrors at the office or give them to your child’s teacher. Thank you for your assistance!
Inclement Weather Policy
Hampton Park follows Greenville County Schools (GCS) on the first day of any cancellation, delay, or early closing due to inclement weather. After the first day of an inclement weather event, our plan may differ from GCS. We will post closings and delays on Renweb, WYFF News 4, Facebook, Twitter, and our website. If possible, we will also send an email or text alert.
Sickness
This is the season for sickness, so please be reminded to keep sick students home from school until they have been fever-free and symptom free from the stomach bug for 24 hours.
