Achievement Test Scores

Achievement Test Scores have been sent home in sealed envelopes with students in grades K5-12 today.

Library Used Book Sale

The Library Used Book Sale is held now through Friday, May 5, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Library. All books are sold for $1.00 or less and all proceeds will go toward new books for the Library. On Friday, all books are half price.

Required Junior Meeting – Tuesday, May 2, 7:00 p.m.

All juniors and at least one parent are required to attend the meeting this evening, at 7:00 p.m., in M-212. Do you have questions about concessions during games, ad sales, or the senior trip? This informative meeting will give you a better understanding of the fund-raising activities for the Senior Year. Please enter at the Panther doors when you arrive for the meeting.

STEAM Powered Walk-a-thon – Pledges Due May 3

Students have until tomorrow, Wednesday, May 3, to collect Walk-a-thon pledges in order to count toward prize totals. Money may be turned in to the student’s teacher or the school office.

Cross Country Interest Meeting and Tryouts

Students who will be in grades 6-12 for the 2017-2018 school year and are interested in Cross Country are encouraged to attend the interest meeting on Wednesday, May 3, at 3:30 p.m. in M-209. If you are unable to make it to the meeting but are interested in the sport, please contact Coach Cansler at coachcanslerxc@gmail.com to let her know of your interest. Tryouts will be held on May 9-11, from 3:30-4:30 p.m. by the fountain in front of the gym. Students must only attend one day. Please remember that students must have current Pre-Participation Athletic forms on file in the office in order to try out for a sport.

May the 4th

May the 4th is International Star Wars Day and all students are invited to dress in Star Wars attire. Pull out those costumes, be creative, or wear a Star Wars t-shirt on Thursday and May the 4th be with you!

Outdoor Band Concert – May 9, 11:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

Join us under the Main Portico (feel free to bring your lunch) on May 9, from 11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., and hear all of the HPCS bands perform. The Lower School Band will perform at 11:00 a.m. and the Upper School Concert Band will follow at 11:45 a.m.

Lego Robotics Team

Information and applications for the Lego Robotics Team have been sent home with students in grades 4-6 today. If your child is interested in trying out for the team, fill out the application and return it to Mrs. Howell or Mrs. Saldivar by Friday, May 12.

Middle School Girls’ Soccer Tryouts

Girls in grades 5-7 who are interested in playing soccer for the 2017-2018 school year are invited to come to tryouts on May 16-18, from 3:30-5:00 p.m. Please remember that students must have a current Pre-Participation Athletic Form on file in the office before trying out for a sport.

Drama Auditions for 2017-2018 Production

Students in grades 9-12 who are interested in trying out for the 2017-2018 drama production should plan to attend the drama auditions on Wednesday, May 17, or Thursday, May 18, from 3:15-5:00 p.m. in the Collins Auditorium. Students who are interested in performing, working on the stage crew, or helping with lights or makeup should go to one of the audition times.

Sports Banquet – Friday, May 19 – Ticket Sales begin Thursday, May 4

Our annual HPCS Sports Banquet is Friday, May 19, at 6:00 p.m. Students in grades 6-12 who participated in sports are invited, along with their parents, to attend the banquet at a ticket price of $8 each. Tickets will be available in the school office starting on Thursday, May 4, and may be purchased by cash or check only. Ticket sales will close on Tuesday, May 16, so purchase your ticket early.

Lost and Found

Please make plans to check Lost and Found sometime this month to look for any items that your child may be missing. The Lost and Found will be donated on Thursday, May 25.

2017 Summer Sports Camps

While many students have already signed up, registration is still open for Hampton Park’s Soccer Camp (June 19-22) and Basketball Camp (July 17-20) for students going into grades 1-12. Don’t miss out on this opportunity take your game to the next level or begin to learn a new sport. General Information

Tuition Charges

Tuition charges are billed through May. However, due to the Smart billing scheduling any miscellaneous fees (lunch, child care, makeup sessions, etc.) incurred after April 20, must be billed in June. If you have any miscellaneous charges, you will receive a June bill for those items from Smart Tuition.

Child Care/Late Stay for 2017-2018

Starting in August, Child Care/Late Stay will be closing thirty minutes earlier, at 5:30 p.m. rather than at 6:00 p.m. This change will not go into effect until next school year.

2017-2018 Textbook List

The Upper School textbook list for the 2017-2018 school year has been added to RenWeb under Resource Documents.

2017-2018 School Calendar

The 2017-2018 Tentative School Calendar is located in RenWeb under Resource Documents. This calendar will be updated in July and mailed with the Summer Preview.

Mirrors for Art Class

Continue to send in hand or compact mirrors for use in our art classroom for the 2017-2018 school year. Mirrors may be given to Mrs. Panosian or dropped off at the school office.
