In observance of National Poetry Month…
Upcoming Events
Library Used Book Sale
During the month of April, we are asking you to look around
For books for all ages, new and old, that you have found
You no longer need or want or like or use
Donating to the Hampton Park Library is something you can choose.
Classes will have a competition to see
Who can donate the most books for the Library.
A big sale will follow with information to come
Books will sell for a dollar or less to everyone!
AACS – National Fine Arts Competition at Bob Jones University
High School students who at SCACS took first place
Will now compete at AACS their talents to showcase.
On April 10-12, at BJU, students from all over the states will meet
In music, art, speech, band and more they will compete.
Schedules are on RenWeb and on our website
So you can attend an event day or night.
Achievement Testing
While students in K5 to 12th grade might like a day at the lake,
On April 16-20, Achievement Testing they will take.
Students should eat a good breakfast each day
Or grab something to eat while leaving the driveway.
Bring a number 2 pencil – a mechanical won’t do
Or to test again, we may ask of you.
Testing happens but once a year,
And when it is over all the students can cheer!
Greenville Special Olympics – Wednesday, April 18
The Greenville Special Olympics will have a large event
Held at Furman University outside under some tents.
Over 1,000 athletes will compete in track and field sports
And our students in grades 9-12 will serve them and give them support.
On RenWeb under WebForms a permission form you will find,
And we need it approved for students to attend, if you don’t mind.
Early Dismissal – Friday, April 20
Our juniors have worked hard and long to create a special day,
Juniors and seniors in formals, ties, and holding spring bouquets.
They attend the Junior/Senior Banquet where they’ll eat and see a play
That is a skit the juniors make for the seniors, special memories to convey.
As a result, on April 20, all classes at 11:30 will dismiss,
Child care will be available, but students must bring their lunches for this.
Microwaves will not be available, so please keep that in mind.
If your child brings spaghetti-o’s, no microwave he will find.
Used Uniform Sale
Are you often missing clothes that your child used to wear?
Did your oldest son grow 4 inches last month and you were not aware?
I will tell you of a sale that you will want to share!
A sale where every item is $1, I declare!
The Lost and Found Uniform Sale will be held in the Reference Room.
Drop by and shop at the listed times and then your other errands resume:
- Monday, April 23, 2:30-4:00 p.m.
- Tuesday, April 24, 8:30-9:15 a.m.
- Tuesday, April 24, 2:30-4:00 p.m.
Just one more note about the clothing that ends up in Lost and Found
If names were written on the labels, it would be quite profound!
When lost items were located, identifications would abound;
Items would return to the owners and we would not have to ask around.
Outdoor Band Concert
Put Wednesday, May 16, on your calendar for the Outdoor Band Concert to attend,
You could bring your lunch, bring your parents, even bring a friend.
At the Main Building Portico at 11:00 a.m., the music will begin –
Music from the trumpet, flute, clarinet, but not the violin.
You may want to bring a blanket or folding chair, as well,
You’ll enjoy great band music, maybe even William Tell.
