Spirit Week – Friday, January 18 through Friday, January 25
Spirit Week continues through Friday, January 25, and we encourage all of our students to participate.
- Wednesday, January 23 – Throwback Day (choose a decade!)
- Thursday, January 24 – Crazy Day (the name says it all – dress in mismatched clothes or costumes)
- Friday, January 25 – Navy Blue and Yellow Day (show some school spirit!)
HPBC Ladies Bible Study
Ladies, are you looking for an opportunity to join a Bible Study? Hampton Park Baptist Church invites you to attend the Ladies’ Bible Study which begins on Wednesday, January 23, from 9:15-11:00 a.m. and is held in the Blue Room (Y Building). It is held every Wednesday through April 3. We will be using Melissa Spoelstra’s book, Numbers: Learning Contentment in a Culture of More which can be purchased for $15 the Blue Room on Wednesday. Come as early as 8:30 a.m. to fellowship with other ladies. The nursery for infants and preschoolers opens at 8:30 a.m., as well.
Spirit Week Student Council Events
The Student Council invites students in grades 7-12 to participate in several events during Spirit Week:
- Chick-fil-A Breakfast – Wednesday, January 23, 7:30-8:05 a.m. – Chick-fil-A Cherrydale
- Bonfire – Thursday, January 24, 7:00-9:00 p.m. – Mizell Pavilion
Homecoming
Homecoming is the culmination of Spirit Week and will take place on Friday, January 25. All HPCS families are encouraged to come enjoy the homecoming festivities!
- Five of our teams will play:
- MS Girls vs. Oakwood 3:30
- MS Boys vs. Oakwood 4:45
- JV Boys vs. Oakwood 6:00
- Varsity Girls vs. Oakwood 7:00
- Varsity Boys vs. Oakwood 8:15
- NEW THIS YEAR – For the Boys Varsity game, from tip-off until we score 7 or more points, we will silent cheer! Once our team scores 7 or more, let’s blow the roof off the gym with our cheering!
- An alumni reception will be held in the Blue Room.
- The Senior Class of 2019 and their parents will be recognized.
Admission to homecoming is free with your complimentary Panther Pass (available in the office). Alumni are our guests and will be admitted for free. Concessions will be available for purchase (all proceeds benefit the Class of 2019) by cash, check or card.
Lost and Found
Please take time this week to drop by the MAC (A Building) to claim items belonging to your family. Unclaimed items will be donated to charity after Friday, January 25.
Chess Club
There are limited spots available for the spring semester of the Chess Club. If your child is interested, please email Michelle Schley at mlschley@gmail.com. The new season of Chess Club begins on Wednesday, January 23, from 3:30-4:30 p.m. Students in Chess Club will be charged $50 per semester.
American Heritage Day Program and Lunch – February 7
Information for the American Heritage Day Program and Lunch is going home with students today. The Program will be held in the Main Auditorium on Thursday, February 7, at 10:20 a.m. The Lunch ($6.00 for 3rd grade and above; $4.95 for K4-2nd grade; 3 years old and below are free with adult purchase) will follow in the MAC (A Building) and includes BBQ pork sandwich, potato chips, baked beans, coleslaw, pie and Pepsi. We will be taking lunch orders online this year beginning Friday, February 1, through Wednesday, February 6. Please follow the instructions on the American Heritage Day brochure.

Papa Johns Coupon Books
The Papa Johns Coupon Books are still available and are good through December 2019. The coupon books are located in the office at a cost of $10 payable either by cash or check. Each coupon book includes twenty-four coupons and a free pizza! All proceeds go toward the senior trip.
