Upcoming Events

Library Used Book Sale

During the month of April, we will be collecting books for the Library’s Used Book Sale. The Lower School classes will have a contest to see which class brings in the most books. The sale takes place in the Library from May 6-10, and all books will be $1.00 or less. All proceeds from the book sale will go toward purchasing new books for the school library.

Greenville Special Olympics – Wednesday, April 24

Our students in grades 9-12 will volunteer at the Greenville Special Olympics Track and Field Event at Furman University on Wednesday, April 24. Over 1,000 athletes compete at this special event.

SCACS Soccer Tournament

Our Varsity Girls Soccer team is first place going into the SCACS State Soccer Tournament. This year, the tournament will be held right here at Hampton Park. Consider coming out on Friday, April 26, at 5:00 p.m., to cheer on our girls! While admission is $3 for adults and $2 for students, all Hampton Park families will have free admission. The junior class will be selling concessions – grilled hamburgers and hot dogs, chips, drinks, and candy. Come hungry and support the junior class!

Chick-fil-A Chicken Biscuits

The Junior Class will be selling Chick-fil-A chicken biscuits on Tuesday, April 30, from 7:30-8:20 a.m., at all of the regular drop-off locations on campus. The biscuits are $3.00 each.

Upper School Spring Concert – May 2

The Upper School Spring Concert (Grades 7-12) will be held on Thursday, May 2, at 7:00 p.m., in the Main Auditorium. The concert will showcase students both individually and in groups who competed on the state and national level in various music and speech categories. Everyone is invited to attend!

Spring Pictures

Spring Pictures must be returned or payment made for the pictures by May 3. The easiest way to pay for the pictures is online at mylifetouch.com, or you can send payment in the envelope to your child’s teacher.

You are invited to attend one of the Fine Arts Teacher’s Annual Spring Recitals.

Walk-a-thon – May 7

Please mark your calendars for May 7 for the Walk-a-thon! Students in grades K4-6th will participate in the morning, and students in grades 7-12 will participate in the afternoon. The band concert will take place between the two age groups. Details will be going home on Thursday.

Outdoor Band Concert

The Outdoor Band Concert will be held on Tuesday, May 7, at the Main Building Portico. The music will take place in the middle of the Walk-a-thon schedule. Families are invited to attend, bring a chair or blanket to sit on, bring your lunch, and enjoy the outdoor music. More details will be available soon.

Rising 7th Grade Parents-Only Meeting

One of the biggest transitions for a student at school is moving from the lower school grades to the upper school grades. In order to assist with this transition, we are planning an informational meeting on Tuesday, May 7, at 7:00 p.m., in M202/204. This parents-only meeting will answer questions you have about schedules, textbooks, uniforms, lockers, and more. The meeting will conclude with a Q & A time.

Drama Production Tryouts

Students in grades 8-11 who would like to be involved in the 2019-2020 drama production are invited to attend the tryouts. The tryouts will be held on May 13-14, from 3:30-5:00 p.m., in the Collins Auditorium. Interested students should plan to attend one of the tryouts, do not need to prepare anything in advance, and may try out for a speaking part or technical role.

Pre-Participation Athletic Forms

Students interested in trying out for any of the sports mentioned above must have an up-to-date Pre-Participation Athletic Form (Part 1 and 2) on file in the office. The forms are located on ParentsWeb under Resource Documents. Please contact the office if you have questions.

JV/Varsity Volleyball Spring Training

The JV/Varsity Volleyball Spring Training will be held on April 30, May 2, and May 3, from 3:25-5:30 p.m., in the gym.

Cross Country Tryouts

Students in grades 5-11 who are interested in trying out for Cross Country should attend the tryouts on Monday through Wednesday, May 6-8, from 3:30-4:15 p.m. Students should meet Coach Cansler in front of the gymnasium and bring a bottle of water. A student only needs to attend tryouts until he or she runs a 9-minute mile.

MS Girls Volleyball Tryouts

Girls in grades 5-7 who are interested in trying out for volleyball for the 2019-2020 school year should attend the tryouts on Thursday, May 9; Tuesday, May 14; and Thursday, May 16. Tryouts will take place in the gym from 3:30-5:00 p.m.
