Calling all Volunteers!

Volunteers are needed for the upcoming events like the Used Book Sale and the Walkathon. Please join our facebook page for volunteers (https://www.facebook.com/groups/286964481419015/) or email Mrs. Gearhart at dawngearhart@hamptonpark.org if you are willing to volunteer.

Library Used Book Sale

The Library Used Book Sale will be held on Monday through Friday, May 6-10, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Cross Country Interest Meeting

Students in grades 5-11 who are interested in trying out for Cross Country, and their parents, are invited to attend the Cross Country Interest Meeting on Wednesday, May 1, at 3:30 p.m., in M209. Please enter through the office doors. The classroom is the first classroom on the right after the Panther Door entrance. Attending this meeting is not a requirement for trying out, but you will receive valuable information about the Cross Country season and answers to your questions.

Spring Sports – Team Pictures

MS Girls Soccer, Varsity Girls Soccer, and the Golf teams are having team pictures on Thursday, May 2, at 3:15 p.m., on the athletic field. Coaches will communicate which color uniform to wear for the pictures.

Upper School Spring Concert – May 2

The Upper School Spring Concert (Grades 7-12) will be held on Thursday, May 2, at 7:00 p.m., in the Main Auditorium. The concert will showcase students both individually and in groups who competed on the state and national level in various music and speech categories. Everyone is invited to attend!

Junior High boys should wear black pants and white collared shirts. Junior High girls should wear black skirts and solid-colored tops. High School Choir students should wear their normal choir attire.

Spring Pictures

Spring Pictures should be returned or payment made for the pictures by May 3. The easiest way to pay for the pictures is online at mylifetouch.com, or you can send payment in the envelope to your child’s teacher.

Spring Recitals

You are invited to attend one of the Fine Arts Teacher’s Annual Spring Recitals.

Walk-a-thon – May 7

The Walk-a-thon will be held on Tuesday, May 7, to raise money for new playground, athletic, and band equipment. Students have until May 14 to collect Walk-a-thon pledges to count toward prize totals.

Outdoor Band Concert

The Outdoor Band Concert is scheduled for Tuesday, May 7, beginning at 12:00 noon, at the Main Building Portico. Feel free to bring your lunch and a blanket or lawn chair.

Rising 7th Grade Parents-Only Meeting

Parents of 6th graders are invited to attend an informational meeting on Tuesday, May 7, at 7:00 p.m., in M202/204. This parents-only meeting will answer questions you have about schedules, textbooks, uniforms, lockers, and more. The meeting will conclude with a Q & A time. Please enter at the doors between the Panther Doors and the Main Auditorium.

Drama Production Tryouts

Students in grades 8-11 who would like to be involved in the 2019-2020 drama production are invited to attend the tryouts. The tryouts will be held on May 13-14, from 3:30-5:00 p.m., in the Collins Auditorium. Interested students should plan to attend one of the tryouts, do not need to prepare anything in advance, and may try out for a speaking part or technical role.

Kindergarten Graduation

The Kindergarten Graduation will be held on Thursday, May 16, at 7:00 p.m., in the Main Auditorium.

Sports Banquet

The Sports Banquet will be held on Friday, May 17, at 6:00 p.m., in the MAC (A Building). Ticket sales for the banquet begin on Wednesday, May 1, and will conclude on Tuesday, May 14. Tickets are $9 each and must be purchased by cash or check in the office. Due to the limited seating at the banquet, it is open to immediate family only. All students who competed on a team during the 2018-2019 school year will want to make plans to attend the event concluding the sports season. Seniors should plan to purchase tickets before leaving on the senior trip due to the deadline to purchase tickets.

Congratulations!

Congratulations to our Varsity Girls Soccer Team! They were undefeated over the regular season and took 2nd place at the SCACS State Soccer Tournament.

Baseball vs. Faculty/Staff

The baseball team will take on the Faculty/Staff in a softball game here on our athletic field on Friday, May 3, at 3:45 p.m.

Pre-Participation Athletic Forms

Students interested in trying out for any of the sports mentioned above must have an up-to-date Pre-Participation Athletic Form (Part 1 and 2) on file in the office. The forms are located on ParentsWeb under Resource Documents. Please contact the office if you have questions.

JV/Varsity Volleyball Spring Training

The JV/Varsity Volleyball Spring Training will be held on April 30, May 2, and May 3, from 3:25-5:30 p.m., in the gym.

Cross Country Tryouts

Students in grades 5-11 who are interested in trying out for Cross Country should attend the tryouts on Monday through Wednesday, May 6-8, from 3:30-4:15 p.m. Students should meet Coach Cansler in front of the gymnasium and bring a bottle of water. A student only needs to attend tryouts until he or she runs a 9-minute mile.

MS Girls Volleyball Tryouts

Girls in grades 5-7 who are interested in trying out for volleyball for the 2019-2020 school year should attend the tryouts on Thursday, May 9; Tuesday, May 14; and Thursday, May 16. Tryouts will take place in the gym from 3:30-5:00 p.m.
