Upcoming Events

Christmas Programs

Our Christmas Programs will be held on December 10 (Grades 3-6), December 12 (Upper School), and December 17 (Grades K5-2). Programs begin at 7:00 p.m. in the Main Auditorium and doors open at 6:30 p.m. A nursery is provided for both Lower School Christmas programs for children ages 3 and under.

  • Grades K5-6: Girls should wear Christmas dresses, and boys should wear dark pants and long-sleeved shirts. No tennis shoes.
  • Grades 7-8: Girls should wear a black skirt, white top, and colorful scarf; boys should wear black pants, white shirt, and a tie.
  • Grades 9-12: Girls should wear choir dresses; boys should wear black pants, white long-sleeved shirts, vests, bowties, and black shoes.

December 19 is the back-up date in the event of inclement weather causing the cancellation of a Christmas program.

Early Dismissals

Please make a note of the following dismissal times for December 18-20.

  • December 18-19
    • 11:15 – Grades 1-6
    • 11:30 – K5, Grades 7-12
  • December 20 – NO CHILD CARE
    • 11:00 – Grades 7-12
    • 11:15 – Grades 1-6
    • 11:30 – K5

The lunchroom will not serve lunch on December 18-19, so please pack a lunch for students staying for Child Care.

Lost and Found

Please take time to drop by the Lost and Found when you are on campus to claim items belonging to your family. Lost and Found is full to overflowing and is located in the MAC (A Building). The current Lost and Found items will be available through December 20.

Festival of Trees

The 2019 Festival of Trees held at the Downtown Hyatt, from December 5-30, showcases Christmas trees from area businesses and schools. Hampton Park’s tree was decorated by a group of volunteer moms led by school mom and graduate, Eden Springer.

Spirit Week – January 13-17

All students are invited to participate in Spirit Week on January 13-17. Make a note of the special days and take time over the holidays to plan your fun wardrobe!

  • Monday: Disney Day – Dress up like your favorite animated, Star Wars, or Marvel character.
  • Tuesday: Old vs. Young – Baby brother’s onesie? Mom’s big hair and sequins? Grandpa’s 70’s leisure suit?
  • Wednesday: Class Choice Holiday – Each class will select a holiday and dress accordingly (National Science Fiction Day? National Opposite Day?)
  • Thursday: Crazy Day – The name says it all!
  • Friday: School Spirit Day – Navy and yellow all the way!

Chinese Exchange Students

A few families are still needed to help host the Chinese exchange students between January 13 and February 12. If you are interested in hosting or have questions about this special opportunity, please email Dr. Priest at kevinpriest@hamptonpark.org.

School-Wide Photo – January 21

The school-wide photo for our 50th Anniversary has been rescheduled to January 21. Lower School students should wear a navy, yellow or white shirt and Upper School students should wear Connection Week shirts. Students may wear jeans or athletic pants.

Author Visit

Jean Pennington, author of the Willow Valley Kids series, will be speaking to grades 1-4 on December 17. The illustrator for this series is Hampton Park parent, Julie Dickerson! Mrs. Pennington will have signed copies of her books available for $9 each.

Christmas Fun Days

All Lower School students are invited to participate in some fun upcoming Christmas Fun Days!

  • December 18 – Christmas Hat and Socks Day – Embrace the Christmas spirit from the top of your head to the tips of your toes!
  • December 19 – Elf Day – Dress like Hermey, Buddy, or your favorite elf!
  • December 20 – Polar Express Day (K5-1st) – Wear your Christmas jammies!

(not so) Ugly Christmas Sweater Day (2nd-3rd) – Deck the halls and deck out! Wear your Christmas colors, Christmas accessories, and Christmas bling!

Ugly Christmas Sweater Day (4th-6th) – Wear your ugliest Christmas sweater!

Upper School Only

Christmas Sweater Day

On Tuesday, December 17, the Upper School students will celebrate by wearing Christmas sweaters. Students may also wear jeans or athletic pants.

Handicapped Parking Spaces

Please do not park in handicapped parking spaces unless you have a disabled parking permit. Parents who are picking up Upper School students should get in car line or park in a regular parking space, and should avoid parking in non-spaces or handicapped spaces.

Lands’ End Starboard Scholarship

It’s not too late to start your application for Lands’ End Starboard Scholarship, but the deadline is Friday, December 13. Students in grades 6-12 who display exceptional leadership skills are eligible to receive the $10,000 Lands’ End Starboard Scholarship. Applications are accepted through December 13, 2019, or until 3,000 applications are submitted. Click here to start your application!

Varsity Girls Soccer Off-Season Training

There is one more off season training for girls in grades 9-12 who are interested in trying out for spring soccer. Put December 18, from 3:35-4:45 p.m., on your calendar. The training will be held in the gym.

Basketball Team Photos – December 18

The Yearbook staff will be taking basketball team photos in the gym on Wednesday, December 18, at 11:30 a.m. Players should wear navy uniforms for the photos.
